Mystery shrouded the death of a married woman, whose body was found hanging at her in-laws’ house in Naliagadia village under the Jankia police station in the district on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Pooja Sahu, who had married Sushant Sahu of Golabai village five years ago.
Sources alleged that Pooja has committed suicide.
Following the incident, an FIR was filed by Pooja’s brother at Jankia police station. According to the complainant, it was alleged that Pooja was being tortured both physically and mentally by her in-laws for more dowry.
Following the complaint, police seized the body and sent it for post postmortem.
Though the reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that Puja took the extreme step due to mental and physical harassment on her.
