The Shree Jagannth Temple Administration (SJTA) filed a complaint against Badagrahi Daitapati of lord Jagannath Jagannath Swain Mahapatra, temple servitor Artatran Pratihari and woman devotee Padmini Patra with the Kumbharpara police in the lady devotee’s climbing of the Nandighosh Rath at the Gundicha temple.
The issue had created much uproar after the video footage of the incident was extensively shown in the electronic media. This happened despite a ban on chariot climbing by devotees during Rath Yatra.
SJTA chief administrator Suresh Chandra Mahapatra had asked Puri SP Asish Kumar Singh to inquire into the incident and identify the offenders. ASP Banabehari Sahu had conducted an inquiry and a report was submitted with the SJTA. The report identified the persons involved in the incident which violated the court order.
