According to reports, Belanti Majhi of Thipapani village under Umarkote block had to be taken in a tractor trolley as no 102 or 108 Ambulance turned up though called by an ASHA worker many times. The woman in labour pain had a harrowing time travelling in a tractor trolley through the bumpy kuccha roads. She gave birth to a baby girl before reaching hospital. But the mother and the newborn were shifted to an ambulance midway to cover the remaining distance to the hospital.
Such frequent incidences point fingers at the implementation of the Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) in the State. p
