Will lockdown norms be relaxed in State?

PNS

With a continuous decline in the daily Covid-19 infections in the State, an unlock process to reopen activities and movement of people may be considered by the Government in coming days.

“The current positivity rate is nearly 10% in the State. If the decline trend continues, lockdown restrictions can be relaxed gradually,” said State Health Director Bijay Mohapatra on Saturday.

In fact, the State has been witnessing a dip in single-day Covid infections for about a week. In view of it, it is assumed that the lockdown restrictions may be relaxed bringing a great relief for people. The lockdown in the State is already in force till June 17 since May 5. As the positivity rate was above 10%, the Government extended the restrictions by two more weeks with effect from June 1.
