PNS

A distraught couple from Amlipani village of Jujumura area sat in dharna in front of the office of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) demanding to get back their stolen child. On March 24, their new born son was stolen from the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital in the late night.

“My son was stolen from the hospital. I want to get back my baby. I will not leave the hospital until I get him back son,” said Geetanjali Majhi, mother of the stolen baby.

“More than 25 days have already been passed, but my son is yet to be traced. We will not leave the place until we get back the baby,” said Anirudha Majhi, the father. He further alleged that the CDMO asked him to leave the hospital when he and his wife Geetanjali staged dharana in the hospital premises.

On being contacted, CDMO Dr Kodanda Rao said, “We have not asked the couple to leave the hospital. However, we have shifted Geetanjali to a cabin from the gynaecology ward. She will be provided all the facilities there.”

The CDMO further said that he had discussed with the Superintendent of Police regarding the stolen baby.
