A 53-year-old schoolteacher, Soudamini Barik, who claims to have married Ram Das alias Alok Bisoi alias Anandatma Baba, on Monday lodged an FIR in the Kendrapada Town police station here alleging that the Baba tortured her mentally and physically and also threatened her family members for life.
Soudamini, working as teacher at the Haramani Primary School at Karandiapatana, said Anandatma of Rameswar had married her at the Sahiswar Mahadev Temple at Salepur years back.
However, the Baba was not keen to identify her as wife in public. Whenever she was demanding to get a wife’s status, the Baba was hoodwinking her and taking bank loans in her name. Though he was not identifying her as his wife in public, yet he was forcing her to keep physical relationship in the Ramashram under the Salepur police limits.
She said she along with her family members had first visited the Ramashram in 2008 to seek Baba’s help to resolve some problems. From then, the godman with the help of black magic had forced her to come to the ashram in regular intervals. He used to outrage her modesty on the pretext of organising puja at his bedroom.
Though she had several times asked to solemnise their marriage in court, but Ram Das hoodwink her.
“Ram Das purchased a Mahindra Car Verito and a Maruti Swift VXI taking loans on my name this year. In loan records Ram Das was named as my husband. All the monthly installments were collected from my personal account. He had taken my bank passbook and ATM card and was withdrawing my salary,” alleged Soudamini.
She further alleged that before he was caught by police, Ram Das had returned ATM card, passbook and vehicle documents to her on September 4 through ashram priest Bhabhani.
On September 9, Ram Das telephoned her and threatened to kill her and her family members if she divulges their relationship.
When contacted, Kendrapada SP Nitinjeet Singh said he has directed the concerned IIC to register a case and to start an inquiry.
