Alok Jena, petitioner in the chit fund scam, along with his associate RTI activist Jayanta Kumar Das met CBI Director Ranjit Sinha in New Delhi on Tuesday to apprise him of certain roadblocks that he said are hindering the probe into the scam.

During his 40-minute-long discussion, Jena and Das discussed about six issues related to the probe. Jena told Sinha that 11 MPs, MlAs and Ministers are not responding to the CBI summons served on them.

The Speaker of the Assembly is sitting over the CBI’s request for permission to question the MlAs and is reportedly waiting for a green signal from the Chief Minister.

Jena also said the CBI needs to interrogate State Crime Branch DSP Pramod Panda, who had threatened him (Jena) in the premises of the Supreme Court in New Delhi. Jena urged the CBI chief to provide manpower and logistics to the CBI Odisha team.
