Why CRS report not made public: Cong

The Commissioners of Railway Safety (CRS) have submitted their report to the Government on the deadly Bahanaga train accident on June 28. Though in the meantime four days have passed, the report has not been made public. The Railway Minister is trying to suppress the report, alleged the Congress on Saturday.

The CRS report stated that the Bahanaga mishap is not a conspiracy but a technical glitch or system failure. This means that the Railway Minister is himself responsible and he should resign from his post, demanded Congress spokesperson Sudarsan Das.

The Minister has transferred East Coast Railway General Manager Archana Joshi and is trying to end his responsibility. This is highly unfortunate. After the accident on June 2, the Prime Minister had come to Bahanaga and announced that those responsible for the tragedy would not be spared. Would the Prime Minister take action against his Minister on basis of the CRC report? questioned Das.
