Vigilance sleuths on Friday arrested Bargarh district’s Wesco Barapali Electrical Section II Assistant Manager Kunja Bihari Nayak and lineman Khirod Behera for demanding gratification of Rs 18,000 from Jayadev Nayak of latakera village to supply electric connection to his poultry farm in his village.
Acting on the complaint of Jayadev, Vigilance laid a trap and caught Nayak for taking bribe money of Rs 15,000 from the complainant in front of his residential quarter at Barpali. Seeing Vigilance team, Nayak ran away. However, the sleuths intercepted him inside an abandoned cold store in nearby lenda village. Behera was arrested for taking bribe of Rs 3,000.
His residential house situated at Barpali and Rourkela are being searched.
