The Infocity police have arrested a 25-year-old youth for allegedly shooting obscene videos of a girl student in the bathroom of a private educational institute in Patia area.
The arrested, identified as Rakesh Padhiary of Gandarpur in Barang on the outskirts of the city, was working as a daily labourer in the university.
Padhiary was caught red-handed on Friday while he was recording the obscene video footage of the girl with the help of his mobile camera installed in the bathroom of the institute. The girl had handed over the accused on Friday to the police after some girl students of the institute caught him red-handed. But, he was released later.
The accused was arrested following a day-long protest by the students against the inaction by the local police. Interrogation was on whether he has circulated the video clips and photos in social media, police sources said.
