The Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) at Burla in Sambalpur district has been sealed for seven days following a woman teacher of the educational institution tested Covid-19 positive, said Vice-Chancellor Atal Choudhury on Wednesday.
The 52-year-old woman teacher’s husband succumbed to the disease on Tuesday at the Talcher Covid Hospital. He was a senior official of Nalco.
The district administration and VSSUT authorities have decided to seal the campus for seven days to disinfect and sanitisatise it. The campus has been declared as a ‘No Entry Zone’, the VC said.
All staffs of the Civil Engineering Department of the institution have been placed under home quarantine.
