VSS Nagar residents seek to use Utkal varsity roads

PNS

The Veer Surendra Sai Nagar Unnayan Parishad has demanded that the VSS Nagar residents be allowed to use Utkal University’s inside roads to go into various parts of the city until a permanent road is provided to them.

“VSS Nagar residents had been using Utkal University campus roads for communication purposes as all other connecting roads to the city either have been damaged or become unworthy due to various reasons. Ahead of students’ union election, concerned authorities are not allowing people to commute on these roads. Hence, VSS Nagar residents are facing problems to go to markets, offices, colleges and hospitals now,” lamented parishad president Dillip Dashsharma.

In a statement, Dashsharma said the subway constructed under the NH 5 near Rasulgarh railway over bridge has been defunct due to water and mud logging. The situation has arisen as the main water pipe moving along the road has not been shifted despite Rs 1.9 crore sanctioned for the purpose.
