A body of a Village Level Worker (VLW) was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in a guesthouse at Baligari under the Dharmasala police station of the district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Smitarani Biswal.
Reports said that after disbursing allowances at Bhadanga village, Biswal had gone to the guesthouse of Rupesh Bhadra, husband of Haridaspur Sarpanch Madhusmita Bhadra, in Baligari in his vehicle. Besides Rupesh, some of his friends also went to the guesthouse in the vehicle.
While Rupesh and his friends were busy in preparations for a feast, Biswal went to the first floor of the guesthouse to get refreshed. “Later, she was found hanging with her Chunri from a ceiling fan in the guesthouse. She committed suicide,” claimed Rupesh.After receiving the information, police reached the spot and seized the body. A detailed probe was initiated to find out the circumstances under which the VLW died, said a police official.
