Noted Odia IT expert and scholar Dr Subroto Bagchi delivered the third lecture on ‘Platform and Purpose, of the Odisha Knowledge Hub (OKH) lecture series at the State Secretariat here on Saturday.
While Chief Minister Naveen Patanaik participated in the lecture from his office through video-conferencing, Senior Ministers, Chief Secretary along with Principal Secretaries and Secretaries deliberated at the event site.
Bagchi elaborated that leadership depends on a platform from which a person or an institution operates and the purpose that the person or institution maintains. He said the impact made by a person or institution over a period of time defines the purpose. The platform of a person is defined by his educational background, experience, network and net-worth.
“Persons with ‘high purpose’ innovate new paths which others follow. The visionary leadership of persons with ‘high purpose’ brings about positive revolutionary changes making the world a better place to live. Such leaders get the spirit to work from the universe because of the high purpose itself,” observed Bagchi.
Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi felicitated Dr Bagchi by presenting a memento.
Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan introduced Dr Bagchi in the lecture series and gave a key note address on the objectives of OKH.
While replying to a media quarry after the meeting, he said when the State is celebrating its 80th foundation day and birth centenary of legendary Biju Pattanaik, it is a matter of pride that an Odia scholar and entrepreneur addresses the State Administration in OKH lecture series.
Panchayati Raj Minister Dr Arun Kumar Sahoo, IT Minister Pranab Prakash Das and Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjaya Dasburma participated in the deliberations.
