The general attitude towards women has not changed in the male- dominated society today. Violence against women still continues.

Even family, which is the main activity centre, has been a source of all violence, said State Social Welfare Board chairperson latika Pradhan.

She was speaking as chief guest at the silver jubilee celebration of voluntary organisation SEHEDA in Jharsuguda recently.

A few persons were felicitated on the occasion. Chief speaker and social worker Pramila Swain called upon everybody to work for uplifting women in society.

Senior lawyer Tapas Ray Choudhury,  Deputy Collector Sunasir Kisan and Odisha Sahitya Akademi member Jaynarayan Tripathy were present among others. SEHEDA director Anandini Paddy read out report of achievement of the organisation in 25 years.
