The scorching heat has started taking toll on the State with a 60-year-old man of Ragadipada village under the Badamba police station reportedly dying of sunstroke on Monday. According to reports, the deceased, identified as Fakir Mallick, had gone to a nearby forest with villagers to collect firewood.
While returning, he fell unconscious. Villagers brought him home, where he died shortly. Following information, police rushed to the village and sent the body for postmortem to Badamba hospital. The body was handed over to the family members. The villagers have demanded compensation to the family of the deceased.
