After the end of the custodial interrogation of arrested Government doctor Motilal Gouda, Vigilance police questioned the tainted doctor’s father-in-law Kishore Chandra Gouda for about three hours on Thursday.

The suspended Assistant Director of Factories and Boilers Motilal had been arrested by the State Crime Branch police from Andhra Pradesh earlier this month for his alleged key role in issuing a fake gazette notification.

Motilal and his wife also, a doctor, had apparently amassed huge ill-gotten fortunes by using the fake gazette notification, in which corporate offices were asked to get their employees’ health checked up from some particular private clinics.

Before Motilal was arrested, Vigilance officers had conducted raids in his and relatives’ houses and unearthed huge moveable and immovable properties, on the basis of which a disproportionate asset case was registered against him.

On Thursday, Motilal’s father-in-law, who works as an Assistant Engineer in Koraput district, was summoned by Bhubaneswar Vigilance officers. Sources said that during questioning, Kishore denied of giving any money to Motilal. The doctor during custodial interrogation had told police that his father-in-law had given him Rs5 lakh.
