The Visakhapatnam police team, which arrived here on Thursday to probe the death of a Sambalpur student allegedly due to ragging by his seniors in an institute in Visakhapatnam, visited a number of places to investigate the case.
The three-member team went to the CARE Hospital on Friday, where the victim Shreyas Kesharwani was treated, and held discussions with doctors.
The team was also given the victim’s postmortem report of the Capital Hospital, which report stated that Shreyas had suffered internal injuries before his death.
There was a hole in his heart. Hospital doctors said the injuries seem to have occurred due to heavy blows on the chest. The team is scheduled to leave for Gadaposh in Sambalpur district to meet the parents of the victim.
Shreyas, who was studying at the Sri Chaitanya College in Visakhapatnam, was allegedly beaten up by senior students in hostel on January 6.
After sustaining critical injuries, he was admitted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar and later shifted to Rourkela. He died while undergoing treatment.
