The Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) organised a State-level workshop on ‘Voice of Youth’ here on Thursday.
Though adolescence period is a formative phase, the teenagers can better be inculcated the knowledge on menstrual, personal hygiene, supplementary diet, knowledge on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) issues etc to lead a dignified and healthy life.
The VHAI and the Restless Development have been working on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR).
The SRHR interventions were implemented in Kujang Block of Jagatsinghpur district and Khalkot Block of Ganjam district under the Unite for Boy Rights (UfBR) programme through SRHR alliance in association with the Simavi, Netherland.
The objective of the programme is to strengthen the capacity of adolescents, communities, civil society organisations in the area of SRHR, said VHAI State project coordinator Biswaranjan Mishra.
H and FW Department Additional Director Dr Hemanta Kumar Mishra, Family Welfare Cell Programme Officer Rudra Pradhan, former Nodal Officer Dr KK Rout, UNFPA Consultant Ashok Nayak were present.
