After Upendra Nath Behera, Additional Chief Secretary to CM became the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) Chairman, 1987-batch IAS officer Rajesh Verma has taken over as the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The General Administration Department issued a notification in this regard on Monday.
Verma was the Energy Department Principal Secretary for last one year. With Verma taking charge as Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, 1995-batch IAS officer Hemant Sharma has been given additional charge of the Department of Energy.
Sharma is now GRIDCO’s and OPTCl’s Chairman and Managing Director.
Verma has been working in the State for last few years after he returned from the Union Government serving for seven long years.
