The Vedanta Aluminium spearheaded a comprehensive awareness campaign in Jharsuguda to mark the National Road Safety Month. Collaborating with the State Government's 'Sadak Suraksha, Parivar Raksha,' and the Union Ministry of Road Transport's 'Be a Road Safety Hero' initiative, Vedanta reached out to over 25,000 denizens, emphasizing the crucial need to adhere to traffic regulations and road safety norms.
The month-long drive encompassed a range of activities, including road safety sessions, rallies, short film screenings, and street plays featuring characters such as Yamraj and Chitragupta. Targeting key areas, schools, and colleges in Jharsuguda, the campaign reached its pinnacle during the Republic Day celebrations with a road safety street play. In addition to these efforts, Vedanta organised first aid training, emergency response sessions, and medical camps for both employees and partners.
COO Sunil Gupta underscored Vedanta's commitment to a safety-first culture, stating, "Through innovative initiatives, we instil 'Safety-first, Always' among our workforce and communities, contributing to a safer tomorrow."
The proactive measures undertaken by Vedanta garnered appreciation from Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Dinabandhu Sundhi, who commended the company for its dedication to fostering road safety awareness.
