Union Minister of Steel & Mines Narendra Singh Tomar and Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan arrived here on Saturday for preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Steel city on April 1.They were accompanied by SAIl Chairman CS Verma and senior Steel Ministry officials.
The Prime Minister will dedicate the modernised units of the Rourkela Steel Plant to the nation. With this modernisation and expansion programme, the RSP has taken its production capacity from 2 million tonnes to as high as 4.5 MT.
The Union Ministers visited different locations where Modi is scheduled to go. According to sources, the Ministers were satisfied over the arrangements and gave clearance to the PM’s visit.
