Odisha BJP leaders met party national president Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday to work out a new strategy for the State unit. The meeting was significant in view of the desperation of State leaders to go all guns blazing against the BJD while the BJP national leadership has taken a soft approach towards BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. An 11-member delegation led by State party president KV Singh Deo met Shah.
The focus of the meeting was reportedly the approach of the party towards the BJD. While the State BJP leaders have no love lost for the BJD, the approach of the party high command has been a big letdown for them in the recent past, the delegation reportedly told Shah, who himself during his visit to the State in January had refused to utter a word against Naveen Patnaik, leaving the State party leadership crestfallen.
The delegation included legislature party leader Basant Panda, Biswabhushan Harichandan, Bijay Mohapatra, Dilip Ray, Suresh Pujari, Prasanna Mishra and Sarada Prasad Satpathy and Ranjan Patel.
