Unearthed relics belong to Baldevjew shrine: VHP

PNS

The Vishwa Hindu Parisad (VHP) unit at a Press meet here on Friday stated that the remnants of the temple excavated recently in the district are of the famous Baladevjew temple. The historians earlier had opined that the first Baladevjew temple was located there but it was demolished during the time of Moghal Emperor Aurangzeb in the 1660s.

VHP district president Banambar Sahu demanded that the land from where the remnants were discovered be handed over to the Baladevjew temple authority and the VHP be allowed to construct a new Baladevjew temple on the spot. Besides, they demanded complete halt in the construction of District Planning works on the spot.

The VHP leaders also demanded preservation of the spot and more spade works by the State Archeology Department (SAD) to explore the hidden facts pertaining to the old temple. The leaders also demanded that the Hindus be allowed to have a darshan of the remnants.
