Three accused, including the prime accused, in the Rs1,800-crore Uliburu mining scam appeared before the Special Vigilance Court here on Wednesday.Prime accused Deepak Gupta, co-accused and suspended former Deputy Director Mines (DDM) of Joda Manas Ranjan Mohanty and the then Mining Officer of Joda Satyabrata Rout appeared before the court.
While Mohanty appeared in the court as his judicial remand ended on the day, Rout was produced as his bail period ended. Gupta was produced in the court as part of the routine appearance.Notably, the court completed its hearing on Mohanty’s bail plea on July 3 and has kept its verdict reserved while extending his judicial remand which ended on the day.
