Utkal Bharat president Kharabela Swain on Monday said corrupt practices of the BJD Government have made Odisha poor and, hence, people would elect his party for a clean Government in the 2019 elections.
Swain stated this at a Press conference held at Dunguripali in Subarnapur district.
“An MP, an MlA, a former MlA and many other BJD leaders have been arrested in the chit fund scam. Besides, local leaders are taking bribes to provide pensions, houses and toilets to poor people under different Government schemes at panchayat levels. There has been no industrial development in the State. Moreover, Rs 1-a kg-rice and Rs 5- a meal schemes have made people lazy. As the BJP and the Congress are incapable, the Utkal Bharat is the only alternative to form Government in 2019,” said Swain.
