Subhalaxmi Satpathy, Revenue Inspector (RI), Khanua Revenue Circle under Badasahi tehsil in Mayurbhanj district, was arrested by Vigilance police while she was taking bribe of Rs14,000 on Wednesday.She had demanded the bribe from laxmidhar Singh of Betanati to release his tractor and motorcycle.
In another instance, Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday arrested GPTA Debajani Maharana of Rengali block in Sambalpur district for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs1,000 from one Sanatan Mirdha of Sargipali village. She demanded the bribe from Mirdha for preparation of plan and estimate for construction of Beedi house under the Revised Integrated Housing Scheme (RIHS), applied by the latter’s mother Mathura Mirda, to get subsidy under the scheme.Vigilance officials caught the GTPA red-handed while she was accepting the bribe from Mirdha in her office. Investigation is on to get deep into the matter, said Vigilance SP JN Pankaj.
