Kandhamal district Collector Yamini Sarangi on Monday dismissed two Junior Engineers, Babulal Palai and Pitambar Hembram and suspended Ora gram panchayat Sarapanch Minati Pradhan and Executive Officer Premananda Pradhan on the charge of misappropriating Government money.
As per information the Government had sanctioned Rs 2,40,000 for construction of a CC road and Rs 2,30,000 for construction of Ora GP office under the Tumudibandha block. But the record shows that the two works were done at Rs 10,53,000 and that too without knowledge of the district administration.
During investigation, it was revealed that the four accused grabbed extra money spent for the two projects. The Collector took actions against the above persons on the advice of Panchayati Raj Department.
