Two persons were killed and about 15 others injured when a bus collided with a loaded truck near Dangapani on National Highway-49 in Keonjhar district late on Saturday night. According to reports, a private bus, Dipu-Bapu, was on the way to Rourkela from Bhubaneswar when it collided with the onion-laden truck from Raipur to Kolkata on the highway, about 8 km from here around last mid-night, said Sadar Police Station Inspector In-Charge Satyajit Das.
While one person died on the spot another succumbed to injury during treatment at a hospital here, he said. Both the vehicles were burnt due to the impact of the collision. Police personnel and fire brigade unit rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The injured persons have been admitted to a nearby hospital, the police said.
