A two-day State-level conference of All-India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan (AIMSS) will be held here from January 31. AIMSS State secretary Swayamprava Nayak told mediapersons here on Thursday that the conference is being organised at a time when there are massive struggles by women across the State for various reasons.
“Around 5,000 women from across the State will participate on the inaugural day of the conference to be held at lower PMG on January 31. Similarly, nearly 200 AIMSS office bearers will also assemble on February 1 at Koraput Bhawan to discuss various women related issues,” said Nayak.Issues like dowry harassment and killings, sexual assault, rape and harassment at workplaces, domestic violence, prostitution, and honour killing and obscene portrayal women would be discussed in the conference so as preventive measures against them, she added.
