PNS

To contain the spread of Covid-19, the Sambalpur administration on Thursday decided to impose a two-day shutdown in the district on July 11 and 12.

District Collector Shubham Saxena advised the people to stay home during the shutdown.

Barring emergency services, public transport and private vehicles movement would be stopped. All shops and other business establishments expect medicine shops would also remain closed.

The district administration said stringent action would be taken against those who would violate the shutdown guidelines.

A total of 108 persons in the district have contracted the virus so far. While 58 patients have recovered, the number of active cases stands at 50.
