In a tragic incident, two school students drowned in the Jhankarapalli power channel on Friday. The deceased were identified as Sumit Das and Samir Dalei.
Sources said that five students of Class-X had gone to attend a coaching class. However, instead of attending class, all of them went to the Jhankarapalli power channel to take bath. All of a sudden, Sumit and Samir were swept away by water current while the three others managed to save their lives.
Getting information, Fire Services officials rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation. later, the bodies of the two deceased boys were recovered from the water and sent to the hospital for postmortem.
