A private tuition teacher was severely thrashed in public here for allegedly making an indecent proposal to an MBA girl student on Sunday evening. The accused was identified as Binod Kumar Sahoo.
According to sources, Binod allegedly passed indecent remarks to the Utkal University student, who was returning to her hostel on Sundayevening.
The student immediately called her friends over phone. They soon arrived at the spot and beat up Binod with bamboo sticks. later, police rescued Binod. The police have registered a case against Binod and detained him for questioning.
Meanwhile, Binod said, "I was drunk. I don't remember what I did."
Binod's wife said her husband can't commit such a mistake when in sound mind. "He might have committed the mistake in a drunken state. The Government should stop selling liquor," she said.
