Senior IAS officer Ashok Kumar Tripathy has finally been promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary, for which he had waited for a long time.For the first time, the State Government has increased the number of the Chief Secretary-rank posts to seven and Tripathy has, therefore, been accommodated smoothly.
The Department of General Administration on Wednesday notified the order relating to promotion of the 1981-batch IAS officer Tripathy with retrospective effect from July 1, 2013. Tripathy has been given in-situ promotion and posted as Director General of the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration (GAA). Earlier, Tripathy, third in seniority after Chief Secretary J K Mohapatra, was denied promotion due to a bureaucratic hassle.
