The State Government on Wednesday announced to bear all expenses for the study of Karmu Majhi, a student from Kasipur block in Rayagada district, who has qualified in the entrance test to study at the prestigious National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik handed over the Government assistance letter to Karmu while the latter met him at the Naveen Nivas to express his gratitude.

“I am very grateful to the Chief Minister for giving me a chance to study at the NID by announcing to bear all expenses for my study,” said an elated Karmu. It is to be noted that a graduate from city-based BK Art and Craft College, Karmu qualified in the entrance test of NID, but was unable to bear the expenditure. He visited the CM’s grievance cell here seeking Government help. The CM directed the SC and ST Development Department to do the needful in this regard.
