Five days of training on ‘Developing Managerial Competency’ for officials of the Tourism Department was inaugurated at the XIMB here on Monday, with Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda inaugurating the programme. The Minister emphasised on capacity building and competency of tourism official and later called for regular training programmes for upgradation of skills of the employees and officers of the concerned department. Tourism Department Secretary Dr Arabinda Padhee and Tourism Director Manoranjan Patnaik highlighted the importance and need of such training for creating a healthy, conducive and workable environment and urged the officials to take advantage of the training. Among others, Prof Andrew Dutta and Prof FM Sahoo were present.
