Warm felicitation was accorded to young tablist of the city Dillip Kumar Pani who stood first in a State level tabla playing competition organised by the Sports and Youth Service Academy during the 19th State Youth Festival held at Bhubaneswar on December 23.
Pani is now eligible to represent the State in national level competition. His solo musical performance in tabla has earned him a place in the music arena of the State.
Pani, who hails from a clay potter family of Tikarpada, Kumhar Sahi, Puri, studied in the lingaraj Kala Niketan here. He also passed in first class in Sangeeta Bhaskar examination conducted by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. The felicitation function was chaired by district sports and culture officer Rabinarayan Senapati while many music lovers were present during the ceremony.
