Even as Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his office were yet to respond, a Telangana Minister came to the rescue of an Odisha girl working in the neighbouring State who suffered grave head injuries in Hyderabad on Sunday morning after falling from a moving bus.

The 20-year-old girl from Balangir, Rashmita Putel, fell from the bus near Jeedimetla in Hyderabad at around 11.45 am while she was alighting from the vehicle thinking it to have stopped. While she had put on an earphone, she was either talking to someone or listening to music and mistakenly got down from the moving bus before it had halted.

It was her weekly off-day and she was going to her office to hand over some nonfunctional mobile handsets.

luckily, the girl was carrying her identity card by which locals called up her office for help. Her colleagues arrived and rushed her to the Balaji Hospital by a 108 ambulance and later shifted her to the Malla Reddy Narayana Multispecialty Hospital at Suraram. In the meantime, the employer of the injured, Robin Zaccheus, Tweeted to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the CMO, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao urging for their help.

“Within seconds of Tweeting, IT Minister KT Rama Rao responded and instructed the hospital authorities to go ahead with a surgery without bothering for the expenses. “I was expecting the Odisha CM to respond but haven’t got any response yet,” Robin Zaccheus told media.

The Telangana Minister has released around Rs 7 lakh from the State’s Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards treatment expenses. He has also directed his PA to personally monitor the situation. later, the operation was conducted and the girl is under observation in the ICU of the multispecialty hospital, he added.

Rashmita works for a private company, Call Health, as a nurse. While her family members were informed about the incident, they said it would take around four days to reach Hyderabad, Zaccheus said after his telephonic conversation with her family in Odisha.
