With two party MPs, Tapas Paul and Sudip Bandyopadhyay arrested by the CBI in connection with the Rose Valley chit fund scam, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has decided to hold a protest rally here on Tuesday.
“The Centre is pursuing vendetta politics against the West Bengal Government and TMC leaders. The party will not be cowed down despite such attacks,” said TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee, who arrived here on Sunday to meet Sudip Bandyopadhyay.
Chatterjee, TMC general secretary Subrata Bakshi and two other leaders Chandrima Bhattacharya and Manish Gupta met Bandyopadhyay on Sunday.
“On Tuesday, we will take out a protest march from the Bhubaneswar railway station. We want to expose the BJP before people of the country. We want to tell people that here is a fascist party like the BJP which can stoop low to pursue its agenda of vendetta politics,” Chatterjee said. Hurt by Bandyopadhyay’s arrest, a fuming WB CM Mamata Banerjee has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using the Central agencies like the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax Department against his political opponents who have been raising their voices against the demonetisation.
