Knowing very well that it would cause embarrassment to his party colleagues, Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Jibesh Kishore (Jubuli) Sundaray, contesting for the Cuttack lok Sabha seat, on Friday, disapproved the attempts made by certain political parties to polarise the elections in the country on religious line.

Replying to a query while addressing reporters here, the model-turned-politician also condemned the recent call made by Muslim cleric Shahi Imam asking Muslims to vote for the Congress, TMC and RJD.“I completely disapprove the religious leaders dabbling in politics,” Sundaray, a former Aam Aadmi Party member, who joined the TMC just on the eve of elections, said.Stating that the recent fracas between TMC president Mamata Banerjee and Election Commission arose out of a misunderstanding, Sundaray also said he personally condemns the attack on a polling official in West Bengal by some TMC party workers.
