The Koraput police seized 294 kg of ganja and arrested and court-forwarded four persons, including a Gana Sikshak, for carrying the same in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by ASP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra raided a mini truck at the Damonjodi road. Two of the arrested have been identified as Dhanurjaya Patra and Chaitanya Patra. This is the third time in the last two months that the team led by Mohapatra seized a ganja-laden truck.
The team had seized 544 kg and 653 kg of ganja in the earlier two raids, respectively. It is marked that smugglers are making a safe corridor from Malkangiri to Potangi via Semiliguda-Damonjodi and from there to Kalahandi for ganja supply.
