The miscreants later entered into the strongroom by damaging the CCTV but failed to loot money though they broke open the strong room. Manager Harihar Pandav lodged an FIR at Aul police station and acting on the FIR, the Ali police registered a case bearing case no-170 /16 under Section 457 of IPC.

Notably, last Monday night, miscreants had looted cash from the donation box of 500-year-old laxmi Barahajew temple in Aul after they entered into the temple by breaking open the lock of the entrance door of the temple. Police are still groping in dark in the incident. Similarly, gold chain snatchers have a field day at the township area.

On Wednesday night, two motorbike borne miscreants allegedly looted a gold chain from a woman near the Kendrapara Block office area on Santasahi-Gandakhia road. Police registered a case and started investigation on the alleged matter by detaining a youth.

The locals alleged that criminals are moving scot-free and committing crime in regular intervals thanks to the unholy nexus between the criminals and some police officials.

When contacted SP Nitinjeet Singh stated that enough steps hav been taken to curb crime in the district.
