The city police on Tuesday night raided a hideout in the residential area of Abhinav Bidanasi and arrested three Muslim miscreants, who were planning to carry out a robbery in the locality. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, City DCP Sanjeev Arora disclosed that all the arrested are key associates of Kendrapada-based gangster Sk Usman Ali alias Tito.
After the arrest of Dhalsamant brothers (Sushant and Sushil) in January this year, members of the Tito gang are now trying to spread their criminal network in Cuttack, including the satellite city of CDA at Abhinav Bidanasi. With the present arrests, the city police have already arrested at least a dozen members of the Tito gang so far this year.
Police said they seized two pistols, 14 live bullets, two bhujalis, two motorcycles and six mobile phones from the arrested trio, who are identified as Sk Abdulah (32), Saukat Ali Khan (35) and Sariq Mohammed (42). All three belong to the city and are career criminals.
