A youth was allegedly killed by three brothers with an axe on Thursday in the wee hours of Thursday at Rajgangpur. The police seized the axe and arrested two of the three accused. While a manhunt is on to nab the third assailant, the arrested duo will be forwarded to court on Friday.
Sources said Rita Bag (22), a resident of Karlakani village under Rajgangpur police station, had committed suicide six months ago after she had been molested by her cousin brother-in-law (sister’s husband) Sitaram Sanyasi of same village. After the death of Rita, the police had arrested Sitaram and forwarded him to court.
Bisram (25), a resident of Karlakani village, who is the brother-in-law (wife’s brother) of Sitaram, had succeeded in releasing the latter on bail. After the release of Sitaram, deceased Rita’s three brothers Dilip Bag, Uttam Bag and Ramji Bag had questioned Bisram how he dared bring accused Sanyasi on bail. Bag’s brothers had an altercation with Bisram.
To take revenge, on Thursday at around 4 am, Dilip, Uttam and Ramji barged into the house of Bisram and on finding him sleeping outside his house on a cot, the trio hit him with an axe.
later these assailants fled from the spot. Hearing a screaming, the people of nearby area rushed to the spot but by that time Bisam had died. After getting information, Rajgangpur police IIC SK Sethi along with other police officials had reached the spot. Police seized the axe and sent the body for autopsy. On Thursday morning, the police arrested Dilip and Uttam.
