Police arrested and court-forwarded three culprits for their alleged involvement in the looting of Rs7 lakh from a finance company employee at IFFCO Square here on November 30.
The three were identified as Hrudananda Singh alias Dipak and Sagar Das alias Mendha of Marichipur under Port police station and Bhabani Shankar Patnaik alias Bapu of Kotakal village under Paradip Luck PS.
Jagatsinghpur SP R Prakash informed this at a Press meet here. He said police too seized cash of Rs1,56,980, a country-made pistol, two round of ammunition, a motorcycle and mobile phones from them.
The three had looted Cash Management Info System employee Sanjay Kumar Dash of Rs6,94,351 after firing at him. Dash was injured.
The culprits have many cases registered against them at various police stations in the district. The other accused would be arrest soon, said the SP.
On Friday, the police had arrested and court-forwarded two persons on the charges of stealing mobiles and gold ornaments.
Among others, Paradip ASP BC Mishra and Paradip PS IIC RK Samal were present.
