The Chhatrapur Additional District Judge (ADJ) has awarded life imprisonment to three persons in connection with the kidnapping and murder of one Yudhistir Nahak at Khallikote in Ganjam district in 2012.
The three accused convicted are Dillip Acharya, Pramod Behera and Krushna Chandra Das. However, the court acquitted six other accused, who were earlier arrested by the State Crime Branch’s Special Task Force (STF) in the connection, due to lack of evidence.
In August 2012, the body of Nahak, who was the father of the then Khalikote NAC Councillor Shankar Nahak, was found floating in Samala barrage near Talcher. He was kidnapped from his home by the miscreants on July 18.
