'Those against industries are State's foes'

AKSHAY ROUT

The State is determined to mitigate its poverty, for which the Government has launched the Re-1 rice supply scheme, Madhusudan Pension Yojana, Mo Kudia and similar other programmes, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while addressing a public meeting at Jajpur Town on Monday.

He claimed that after the BJD came to power 13 years back, the State has progressed in all sectors. Despite many successes, the future development of the State rests mainly on rapid industrialisation, he said after laying the foundation-stone for construction of a new Collector’s office building at a cost of `12 crore.

The Chief Minister criticised the opposition political parties for trying to scuttle the industrialisation programme in the State. This has been their constant campaign for the last 13 years, he alleged.

If the industrialisation drive progresses under the BJD Government then the very basis of the opposition parties’ existence would simply would be lost, Patnaik said, adding that for their survival, these parties are bent upon opposing the State’s industrialisation and, thereby, sabotaging greater employment opportunities for people. They are, thus, the enemies of people, he remarked.

The Chief Minister also launched the Odisha Emergency Medical Ambulance Service (OEMAS) in Jajpur Town.

The meeting was also addressed by Panchayati Raj Minister Kalpataru Das, Health Minister Dr Damodar Rout, former Minister Prafulla Chandra Ghadai, Jajpur MP Mohan Jena, Korei MlA Pritiranjan Ghadai, Jajpur MlA Pranab Prakash Das, Binjharpur MlA Pramila Mallick, Badachana MlA Amar Prasad Satpathy, Rajya Sabha member Baisnab Charan Parida and others. District Collector Anil Samal presided over the meeting.
