The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) here on Tuesday said cold wave would intensify further in Odisha. “While temperature dipped by 2-3 degrees Celsius last night all over the State, it will continue to plummet by 5-7 degrees within the next 2-3 days. Besides, fog will disrupt day-to-day life in coastal parts of Odisha,” said RMC Director Sarat Sahoo.

While temperature in Bhubaneswar was 22.1 degree Celsius on Sunday, it dropped to 20.1 on Monday. It might go down to 16 degrees by Wednesday. Similarly, the temperature in Phulbani, which was 18 degrees on Sunday, dropped to 15.5 on Monday and might drop to below 10 by Wednesday, he said.

Other parts of the State too witnessed a drop in the temperature. Temperature in Puri, which was 28 degrees on Sunday, dropped to 21.6 on Monday, according to him. “The speed of the wind flowing from Bay of Bengal towards State will be less and sky will be free from cloud causing intense fog in the coastal belt. However, it wouldn’t have any impact in the northern and western parts of the State,” said Sahoo.
