The minimum temperature in the State is likely to fall by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the next 48 hours, predicted the Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Sunday.

Cold wave conditions are likely to persist in some parts of the State from January 3 night. A yellow warning has also been issued for few districts till January 5, the IMD said.

Keonjhar recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.6 degree on Saturday night. The overall weather across the State would mostly remain dry while some parts would experience shallow to moderate fog, predicted IMD.

Dry weather is most likely to prevail over all the districts. Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of south interior Odisha and Angul.

Cold wave condition is very likely to prevail over Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sundargarh and Balangir districts.
