The Jagatsinghpur district administration has designated local Tehsildars to issue permission for hosting social functions like marriage, funeral rites, thread ceremony and similar other events.
They were empowered to ensure enforcement of Covid 19 guidelines during the celebrations. In this regard, Collector SK Mohapatra was issued instruction from the State Government on May 30. As per the State Government instructions, 25 persons shall be permitted for marriage while for conducting thread ceremony and funeral rites, 20 persons are allowed. The local Tehsildars will conduct surveillance to ensure the norms are not flouted.
